Going Green Matters - Environmental Fair

Falcon Group Sustainable Services participates as a presenter and exhibitor at the sixth annual Going Green Matters environmental fair sponsored by Go Green Wilmette.
The fair includes information booths, exhibitor displays, and presentations on topics such as growing your own food, home energy conservation, renewable energy resources, green products, organic food choices, green landscaping, storm water management, the latest plug-in electric cars, eco-friendly fashions and more. New this year is the "Interactive Eco-Zone". Battery, Styrofoam and electronics recycling available. |

Rain Down The Harvest, a non-profit organization founded by Falcon Group Sustainable Services owners, Janet Gale and Anya Kirykowicz, gave an educational presentation at Garfield School. The discussion was presented to 4th and 5th grade students participating in the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy (IMSA) FUSION Curriculum.
The event was centered on The Water Cycle. The global water crisis was discussed. Water conservation and stormwater management practices were presented. Sustainable solutions to these issues, such as Rainwater Harvesting and Rain Gardens, were explained.

Glencoe Goes Green!

Falcon Group Sustainable Services has been invited to participate as an exhibitor at Glencoe's first "green" community event - Glencoe Goes Green! This event will take place on Saturday, November 12, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the Gymnasium at the Takiff Center, 999 Green Bay Road.
The purpose of the event is to raise awareness in the community and to encourage residents to adopt more eco-friendly habits and lifestyles. People will have the chance to visit interactive booths and displays and gain valuable knowledge along the way. This event caters to the whole family, so even the youngest members can learn what they can do to help save the planet. | |

Demonstration Rain Garden Installation
Wilmette Village Hall
The Wilmette Environmental and Energy Commission and a group of volunteers will be installing Wilmette's demonstration rain garden. The event is scheduled to begin at 10:00 AM.
Falcon Group Sustainable Services assisted the Village of Wilmette in implementing this project. The project was made possible through grants from the Illinois Conservation Foundation, Illinois Department of Natural Resources, The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and local environmental organization, Go Green Wilmette.
Falcon Group Sustainable Services owners, Janet Gale and Anya Kirykowicz, will participate in the event as volunteers for their non-profit organization Rain Down The Harvest.

Rain Gardens 101 Program

The Wilmette Environmental and Energy Commission and Falcon Group Sustainable Services will be holding a "Rain Garden 101" session on May 14 at 2:00 pm. at the Wilmette Public Library Auditorium. The session will discuss the installation of Wilmette's new demonstration rain garden on the north side of Village Hall and practical tips for creating rain gardens. | |
